Beacon Park K-8

Opened August 2016!

Beacon Park is a shining example of the care that goes into producing schools through public-private partnerships. FivePoint prioritized safety and sustainability throughout the construction of this K-8 school in Irvine. A seperate, enclosed Kindergarden as well as perimeter fencing integrated into the building construction provide safety and show Fivepoints "commitment to caring" throughout Great Parks. Covered walkways and bikepaths further provide safety, integration, and connection with the larger Great Parks community.

Beacon Park also houses several joint-venture facilities: collaborations between the Great Parks Home Owner's Association and Irvine. These include the Gym, Theater, and Music Classsrooms.

Beacon Park
This gymnasium was funded by the Great Parks Home Owners Association. This massive 2-court facility is open to all residents of Great Parks.
Joint-Use Multi-Purpose Gymnasium
The architect wanted to create unique spaces between classrooms to promote alternative teaching methods. Many one-on-one and specialized classrooms help integrate the look of the many various buildings.
Music Classroom
Joint-use public auditorium and music hall. Floor-to-ceiling windows line two of the walls and help promote a birght, creative space.
Community Hall/Theater
The architects used natural color walls and a beautiful stone clock tower to hide the Kindergarten enclosure. Safety is a common trend throughout the many facilities at Great Parks.
Enclosed Kindergarten Classrooms
The entrance to Beacon Park with Great Park homes in the background. The accessibility and fluidity of the landscaping integrates the school with the larger community.
Beacon Park Entrance
Large open fields stretch from the doors of Great Park homes all the way to their kids classrooms, leaving you with a sense of accessibility. The lack of fencing and proximity to homes helps to further integrate education with the community.
Community Fields
Ample bike and walking paths cover the grounds of the school and the surrounding neighborhood. All residents receive bikes with their home, reducing car traffic which in turn makes the community safer and accessible to all ages.
Integrated Bike/Walking Paths and Landscaping
The architecture of Beacon Park melds naturally with the surrounding landscape. Softer tones and the use of natural materials like wood and stone allowed FivePoint to succesffully hide the concrete and less appealing construction on the property.
